Houston Communities

Houston is the 4th largest city in the United States. If you are relocating to Houston, where do you begin? It can be a daunting task, but we're here to help.

We'll list the most popular cities around Houston for you to visit the next time you're out home shopping. Even though many of the areas we'll list are technically "cities", they're very close and can be considered suburbs of Houston.

The Center of Houston

Downtown Houston is one of the most popular city skylines in America. It's skyscrapers and city living cater to many Houstonians, including business professionals and medical students.

Memorial is one of the most popular cities near the center of Houston, and hosts luxury living and mansions that are conveniently close to Downtown, and the reknown Houston medical center.  Among them is the prestigous community known as River Oaks; the most expensive community in Houston.

North Houston

You may be familiar with popular areas in North Houston such as Tomball, Cypress, Spring, and The Woodlands.  A bit more to the Northeast you'll find Kingwood, which is very similar to The Woodlands.

If you are traveling around these areas, you'll notice tall majestic pine trees, and a bit more preservation of the natural surroundings. This is more-so in The Woodlands, where actual city ordinances prohibit developers from destroyong too many trees.

You'll find that North Houston has million dollar luxury homes, and under $100,000 homes just as well.

West Houston

To the west you'll find Katy; an area that has seen tremendous growth in recent years.  Like North Houston, Katy also prefers to keep it's natural surroundings preserved, and many homes in this area are surrounded by gorgeous trees.

South Houston

Pearland and Sugar Land are the two most popular cities that come to mind when looking for a home in South Houston.

South of Houston you'll find less hills, and more flat land.  What you'll notice, however, is that this area tends to carry a bit more of a breeze which is perfect for those gorgeous Fall afternoons.

Many new developments have been sprouting up in Pearland and Sugar Land, and each of these cities definitely deserves a visit if you plan on living in South Houston.

East Houston

There's really only one major city that could be found in East Houston, and that would be Pasadena. This area is known for being close to the Houston oil industry, and is a great place to live if you are looking to find a employment near the Houston ship channel.

It's close proximity to Downtown Houston also helps with travel times during busy hours.
